The Association of African National Olympic Committees (ANOCA) honored Ghanaian Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, at his 40th anniversary dinner in Abuja, Nigeria.

ANOCA recognized Mr. Ussif for his drive and commitment to the improvement and development of sport in Ghana and Africa.

ANOCA President Mustapha Berraf said, although Mr. Ussif has not been in the world of sport for a long time, his “ideas and contributions to the development of sport are commendable and deserve to be recognized”.

“The reports from our Ghanaian representative underscore your dynamism and commitment to the successful hosting and organization of the Accra 2023 African Games,” he added.

Among the other dignitaries who were honored for their contribution to the development of sport, there were; Mr. Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development of Nigeria, Prof. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports of Egypt, and Abderazak Sebgag, Minister of Youth and Sports of Egypt.

Once again, the former president of the Ivorian Olympic Committee, General Lassana Palenfo was rewarded along with many others.

ANOCA is currently organizing its 56th Ordinary Committee Session which happens to be its 40th anniversary in Abuja.
