Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, revealed that her department is working to set up a 48-hour express service for the acquisition of pbadports in the country.
According to her, this is an attempt to gradually eliminate the operations of intermediaries known as "Goro boys".
She informed him by addressing the media after the opening of two new pbadport offices in Tema and Koforidua.
"We will continue to improve service delivery to the Ghanaian public. In the future, the ministry intends to introduce a 48-hour service for those who need very urgent services, "she said.
Once deployed, this service will be one of the many measures put in place to ensure that Ghanaians who wish to obtain their pbadport can do so sooner.
In November 2018, the Ministry announced the availability and application of pbadport forms online, easing pressure on the country's various pbadport centers, including in Accra.
Later that year, the ministry ordered a new Premium Pbadport Application Center in the Accra Digital Center, which currently allows applicants to complete the registration process in less than 30 minutes for a fee. additional 50 GH ¢.
The minister, however, expressed optimism that the new measure will not only ease pressure on the various pbadport offices, but also reduce the operations of crooks and "Goro boys".
"We think this will completely eliminate the need for intermediaries to acquire pbadports," Ayorkor Botchwey added.
