"The Safe Water Network experience has taught us that small water companies are an important part of the combination for sustainable water supply in Ghana, especially in peri-urban areas, small towns and rural areas. ", did he declare.

"The ministry will work in partnership with the Safe Water Network to support its efforts to integrate small businesses in the water sector into its overall strategy and plan for the provision of water supply services. "

Mr. Charles Nimako, Director of Safe Water Network Initiatives, highlighted the role of small water businesses in providing safe, affordable and reliable water supply services, particularly for water and sanitation. poor.

"In combination with the efforts of other implementers and having an operational footprint in nine out of 10 regions and reaching 1.1 million people in Ghana, small businesses in the water sector have proven themselves, are ready to be replicated and have a crucial role to play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, "he said.

"We estimate that with an investment of 106 million US dollars, we can reach about 3.2 million people in 1,000 communities with reliable access to clean water."
