Kate Middleton's mother bombs her party's staff with e-mails, docks pay for visits to the dentist and avoid those who disagree with her, they say.

The former employees of Party Pieces have made accusations against Carole Middleton, who started the business with her husband Michael more than 30 years ago.

A former worker says she received 71 emails from Ms. Middleton, 64 in one day, and another says she decided to leave a management position because of her stress.

A former worker believes that the time spent on a dentist appointment could be taken into account by staff.

The man said: "I could understand having to make a point if you are paid at the hour – but we were salaried employees."

Another former employee said: "If you do not agree with her, she will give her favors to someone else, whatever it is, to the taste of the month.

"She would go out for lunch with them and be very friendly with them, and you would discover that you were cut off from emails that were part of your specialty."

This person claimed that Ms. Middleton was clapping her fingers when she wanted someone to approach her "humiliating and unprofessional" office calling.

Party Pieces staff are alleged to have to enter a personal code into a computer – which monitors it every time it comes and goes – to make sure that it works well the hours allocated to it. .

Names of people who do not respect their quote may be emailed to Ms. Middleton. They may also choose to have money deducted from their salary or catch up with their late hours, according to the report.

A former senior executive says he resigned in 2014 because of stress.

He said, "It was so critical that I was stressed … it was more or less taking care of me, really. They promised me constantly to increase wages, but everything was to be taken, never give.

"I was high up, I was attending meetings with Carole and there was what seemed like a real family dispute."

Last month, rumors revealed that Party Pieces had had to lay off three staff members as competition in the party market intensified.

A former staff member says Middleton, 69, is like a father figure who mediates and provides a shoulder to cry on.

The couple created Party Pieces in 1987, when Ms. Middleton was a flight attendant and Mr. Middleton was a dispatcher at British Airways.

All three of their children worked for the company, which sells decorations and supplies for everything from children's birthday parties and baby showers to hen parties and weddings.
