Esi Gyaawa, the mother who murdered her two-year-old boy with the aim of creating a romantic relationship with a new guy, confessed to killing the boy and begging for forgiveness.
According to her, when she had her first child, the father gladly badumed the responsibility, which imposed a burden, but the second (deceased) was a heavy burden because the father had not managed to take care of it.
This, she said, pushed her to end the poor boy's life so that she could have a clean sheet for a new relationship.
According to previous reports, the deceased allegedly committed a crime in the new relationship of his 18-year-old mother.
The unfortunate incident occurred in Breman Brakwa, in the district of Asikuma-Odoben Brakwa of the central region.
Adom News correspondent for the central region, Alfred Amoh, who has followed the story, reported that the teenager drowned her son in a bucket of water in his room.
He said that a resident, who called KB, had said he had heard the girl threaten to kill her son if his father did not come pick him up.
A few minutes later, he said to have heard Ms. Gyaawa scream for help and not find the boy lifeless, head in a bucket of water.
KB noted that since the teenager had found a new lover, her attitude towards the child had changed before her death.
"KB said the suspect was leaving the two-year-old boy alone for about two days, just to see his lover. The deceased really suffered, "said the correspondent of the central region Adom News.
Residents alerted police about the incident that led to his arrest.
Ms. Gyaawa is in custody and participating in the investigations.
