The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Founding National President, Alhaji Ussifu Ali, lost his life, confirmed YEN.com.gh.

As a result, the party declared three days of mourning in memory of the late Alhaji Ali, who pbaded away on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Alhaji Ussifu Ali, one of the first presidents of the party, died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after a short illness.

"The NDC wants to declare three days of mourning in memory of our former leader. During this period, all party flags must fly at half mast, " a statement issued by the NDC said.

He was buried on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Kasoa Ahmahdiya Muslim Cemetery after a short ceremony at his residence in Tesano, Accra.

According to a report from 3news.com, the last funeral rite, commonly known in Islam as Adua, will take place at his Tesano residence on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
