The 774,000 job program organized by the Federal Government of Nigeria has started in the local government area of ​​Bende, Abia State.

The program was officially launched in Abia State on January 5, 2021 at the Michael Okpara Government House Umuahia Auditorium.

Speaking at the launch of the program, the President who was represented by his Deputy, the Hon. Promise Uzoma Okoro tasked the 632 people selected from the program participants in Bende to fully participate in the program and present themselves as good ambassadors for the local government in Bende.

The Executive Chairman noted that the administration led by Chief Emmanuel Onwuchekwa in Bende will continue to support the cleanliness and piety of the area.

He urged them to keep all villages clean and safe.

Onwuchekwa also used this medium to enlighten them on the importance of acquiring their national identification number (NIN) and their voter card before any government subsidy that might require any in order to avoid emergency situations. .

He further urged those who do not have a NIN to make an effort to register as soon as the process begins in Bende.

Earlier in his speech, the program coordinator and the head of special public works at the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) of Abia State, Mr. Onuoha Uzoma Albert, said they had come for the start of the program at Bende LGA and revealed that 632 participants had been selected for the program in the region, while urging others to be patient.

Explaining the working conditions, Mr. Onuoha said that the program is about a cleaning exercise, which will be carried out by the selected people in their different locations which will be held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of the week.

In the case of people with disabilities who were selected for the program, the Coordinator said they did not have to worry as they were not mandated to participate in the clean-up exercise.

Remember that a few weeks ago, the council received from the federal government various equipment and facilities that will be used to carry out the clean-up exercise.
