Ubisoft started with The Division 2, placing its games in Epic Games Store instead of Steam. This practice is now continued with Anno 1800. The strategy game will be officially removed from the store on April 16, 2019.

However, Valve and Ubisoft promise that all previous purchases of Anno 1800 on Steam will be delivered at the release of the game. All updates and future downloadable content will also be sent to the platform, even if Anno has already disappeared from the store. Even though Anno 1800 can still be ordered on Steam, this will be possible until the release of the version.

Anno fans will have to do without Steam in the future.
With Anno 1800, another important version of Ubisoft is found in Epic Games Store. In the months and years to come, the number of games that follow this example should increase dramatically. Epic Games Store should offer significantly better conditions for developers and publishers. On the user side, improvements still need to be made to follow the competitor.
