The next manager of Chelsea: the surprise name behind Frank Lampard to replace Maurizio Sarri

[ad_1]

Everything will change in Chelsea this summer while Maurizio Sarri is preparing to join Juventus after the departure of Mbadimiliano Allegri.

Sarri had already impressed Napoli before joining the Blues last summer in replacement of Antonio Conte.

Despite criticism for his first and probably the only season leading the Blues, the Italian manager took a third place in the Premier League and guided his team to a 4-1 victory of Arsenal in the final of the Europa League .

But he struggled to control the locker room and did not use as many young players as fans of the club would have liked during the campaign that has just pbaded.

While the latest information suggests that the 60-year-old is only a step back from Italy, after an agreement between the two clubs on Thursday night, Chelsea plans to replace his substitutes.

There is a favorite, with reports stating that an old face will return to Stamford Bridge next season.

Lampard would be the first choice for this role after leading Derby County to the playoff final in his first year as manager.

Names such as Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho are also mentioned for the role.

So, what are the latest odds showing on who could be in the dugout for the opening match against Manchester United?

According to reports, Lampard is clearly favorite, the bookmakers looking confident that the former English midfielder will return to his old pitch much earlier than expected.
