The NLRB cancels the Obama era test on worker classification

The National Labor Relations Commission on Friday launched a test of the Obama era aimed at determining whether workers are business employees or independent contractors, saying that it does not not correctly badess the ability of workers to expand their business.

In a 3-1 decision, the board stated that the drivers of the SuperShuttle DFW Airport Shuttle Service, which the company calls "franchisees," are not its employees because they invest in their own vans, set their own hours and are ultimately responsible for their profits or loss.
