The nose of a woman rebuilt from the forehead after discovering a tumor inside a harmless "point"

A woman who survived skin cancer revealed how doctors had to rebuild her face after discovering a tumor in what looked like a harmless place.

Cindy Biddle, a teacher, underwent major surgery to remove the skin cancer that had lodged in her nose.

Although the surgeons managed to eliminate the danger, they had to remove part of the nostril of the 42-year-old woman and rebuild it using the skin of her forehead.

The reconstruction left her with a huge swelling that disfigured her face during her healing, but Cindy. from Florida, said she refused to let people watch.

"My scars were quite painful, but there is no way I'm hiding.

"If I caught someone looking at me pointlessly, I told them right away," she said.

"Once, I turned on a group of guys walking behind me and they jumped back with a disgusted look.

"It made me cry and when I saw them the next day, they all laughed.

"This time, I kept my cool and said," Do not be foolish. It's obvious that I had surgery. "

Today, the scars of the teacher are almost completely cured, but she – and the doctors – have almost completely missed the cancer.

The only visible sign of the tumor that was developing inside his face was a small sore, which looked like a place that would not heal.

Cindy tried to pick her up and hydrate her, and her doctor even prescribed an antibiotic cream, but that did not improve.

It has been identified only as a basal cell carcinoma – skin cancer is mainly caused by too much exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation – by accident.

The history teacher had gone to a walk-in clinic because of a severe headache. The new doctor then spotted the stain on his nose and immediately consulted a specialist.

Cindy said that she had no idea that spending time on the outside could have given her cancer.

"I worked as a salesman in a Mexican bar and spent a lot of time in the sun and at the beach.

"Growing up, no one thought of sunscreen and I spent a good part of my childhood in the sun.

"It has been said that cancer was probably growing for decades, maybe since the age of 12."

When she went under the knife to remove the tumor, her husband, Jonathan, had to leave the room and was so shocked by the magnitude of the growth.

The doctors then stretched the skin of his cheek to cover the hole and built a new left nostril with the skin of his forehead.

Despite his shocking new appearance, Cindy said that there was no alternative.

"It was something I had to do, because otherwise the cancer would literally eat my face, I could have lost an eye or my nose."

She took pictures to illustrate her recovery from surgery, while the swelling gradually decreased and her face returned to normal.

Today, she is dedicated to spreading the message about the danger of skin cancer and the importance of protecting it.

"I have been to the beach only once since my surgery and I was very nervous, sitting all the time under an umbrella.

"I wear sunscreen at factor 30 every day now, even though it's raining heavily, and I always wear a hat on the outside.

"Many of my friends stopped hanging out on tanning beds. I must say – look at the pictures. They would definitely stop me. "
