The Ghana National Union of Students (NUGS) has formed a five-member committee to critically review the controversial draft law on public universities.

According to NUGS, the committee would bring together the views of students and student leaders from across the country to ensure that concerns, views and suggestions are formally communicated to the Ministry of Education.

Committee members include John Mark Bekui, a lawyer and past chair of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council; Courage Kwasi Nobi, former secretary general of NUGS; Pius Nimako, law student at Central University College; Kobby Otchere Marfo, a former student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and Knollis Delle, currently president of the University's Parliament of Development Studies.

In a statement signed by its chairman and press officer, Tinkaro Asaro Osei and Kobby Otchere Marfo, respectively, NUGS explained that "the committee should complete its work and report to the President of the Union for submission to the Central Committee. for the necessary measures to be taken. "
