This is professional advice, but if you have an original iPhone 2007 dock, it's time to dust it off: DVICE found that it worked better than Apple's new custom iPhone 4 dock.
The explanation is explained by the lack of seating: although the dock of the iPhone 4 fits perfectly to the handset, it is actually a little too narrow, which makes it difficult to remove the base of a only hand. The original iPhone dock does not have any of these problems.
