Members of Pendine Sands Holiday Park in Carmarthenshire, Wales, were notified by mail after announcing that their lease on the site would end on December 31, reports Wales Online.

For Mark Topham, leaving the caravan site also means losing one's "family".

The Burton upon Trent construction worker said, "I do not have a family or anything like that, it's my place to go when I finish working.

"When I work at least, I know I can go back and relax, we are our own family there."

Topham, 50, said he checked the details of his license agreement six years ago after buying his caravan on his site for £ 67,000 in 2008.

The construction worker said: "They said that as long as we maintain the caravan, we could keep the caravan there as long as we want.

"I was married and when we parted, I kept the caravan and signed it to my name.I checked if everything was the same and they l & rsquo; have said.

Ross Williams, 43, says he was told that by buying his caravan of £ 15,000 in 2013, there would be no fixed-term lease agreement so long as He kept his caravan in good condition.

The father of two children of Mountain Ash said: "[The salesman] said that there was no occupation up there. He said that it was one of the things that attracted people.

"No one in my case was kicked out because of that – everyone learned that everything was fine as long as your caravan was tidy.

"It's absolutely devastating to do it without thinking about the consequences."

Mr. Williams thinks the news will be moving for those who have stayed on the site over the years.

He said: "We have our last six Christmas there.

"We pay my land rent of £ 6,000, but my family is there every weekend and my wife is there with the kids for the six weeks of vacation.All of my kids' friends are friends of caravan.

"Now the caravan will no longer have any value.We put new curtains last year and new carpets.

"My parents could have invested all their pension in the purchase of a caravan.Three years later, they had to leave."

In a statement, Parkdeans said it would work with the owners whose license had expired to "get the desired result for the owner".

This includes selling the caravan to a merchant for removal from the park or resale to the park at book value.

But a caravan owner said he received nothing that told him to leave the site when his own license agreement expired at the end of last year.

He said: "At the time, they had not said anything about it. They did not even apply it, or said that they would do it.

"The sellers said, the general manager said, everyone said, if your van is in good shape, you do not have to worry about it. "

The owner, who did not wish to be named, said that the deadline had not given him time to find a "reasonable" option for the future of his £ 45,000 caravan (2005) .

He said: "I installed a new refrigerator last week.It is perfectly usable.Its chbadis is galvanized so as not to rust.It has virtually no mark on the outside. Decking takes paint two to three days a year.

In a letter sent to the caravan owners, the caravan park stated that extensions to the license agreements may have already been granted "on an annual basis, at our discretion".

They stated: "Parkdean Resorts is not obliged to do so and we do not offer any other extension after December 31, 2019."

WalesOnline asked Parkdean how many owners had received letters announcing the end of the license agreement.
