A security badyst dispelled his fears about the seemingly growing number of police officers who resigned from the service to do politics.

According to retired Colonel Festus Aboagye, security officers must be allowed to practice the profession they wish after their resignation.

"We should allow anyone, whether it's the police, fire departments, immigration, the BNI, an intelligence officer or a police officer. anyone who can do politics and whatever their profession after their resignation. Detective Corporal John Evans Ayerakwa-Kumordzi, 35, told Starr News that he had submitted his resignation letter to the PGI, David Asante-Apeatu, in accordance with the Service Act. last February, which had accepted momentum to pursue its political ambition of serving its people in the Okere constituency.

"I have been in the police for eleven years. I joined the police department in 2008 but I resigned in February of this year. Right after the police school, I was posted to my riding and worked here for eleven years. I have been with people for 11 years because I was a detective. So I've been with people for a very long time and I know their challenges, so I think it's time for me to lead the riding and help them improve their living conditions, "he told Starr. News.

The former police officer was one of three other candidates in Parliament who chose the application forms with the intention of challenging the primaries in their constituency.

Corporal John Ayerawa-Kumordzi, a former member of the CID, hopes to win the primaries and regain the seat of the Okere district, stronghold of the NDC from 1992 to 2001, when the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party, occupied the post of Parliament Speaker Dan Kwaku Botwe.

The former police officer also pledged enough votes for NDC flag bearer John Mahama to win the presidential election in 2020.

The development comes just days after the Secretary General of the Inspector General of Police, Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo, voluntarily withdrew from the service to challenge the West Wa West parliament primaries.
