Spoiler warning: If you are not caught Game of thronesyou should avoid this article for the moment.
Game of thrones is officially back, Bran Stark being a royal malignant, Jon Snow learning the truths of the house, and Deanerys probably rethinking some incendiary actions.
But aside from the main narrative hijinks, the premiere of Season 8 contained more than a few Easter eggs – including a possible Shoutout Ed Sheeran.
As EW noted, the first episode of last season included two cheeky cameos from the stars of your other favorite television series: It's always sunny in PhiladelphiaRob McElhenney and Silicon ValleyMartin Starr.
There is a scene in which a (ultimately) brave Theon Greyjoy rescues his sister, Queen Yara, from a catch by Euron Greyjoy, thirsty for power. On board the ship SilenceMoored at King's Landing, several guards face their fate during the stealth rescue.
A victim is played by Starr, who plays the apathetic Bertram Gilfoyle in Silicon Valley.
Another of these guards, who takes an arrow behind the head and comes out of the eye, is played by It's always sunny in Philadelphia star and co-creator McElhenney, who posted a delightfully disturbing Instagram of her character.
"Do not blink," reads the caption.
As EW points out, McElhenney goes back a long way Game of thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who wrote an episode for season 9 of Sunny in 2013.
McElhenney and Starr both saw their cameos in a short film behind the scenes.
"They got me out of the eye, they got me off the eye," McElhenney said. "They can give it back, is not it? Well? Benioff told me that they would."
I will not bet on it.
