Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye
Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, president of the Church of Pentecost, lamented the attitude of some of the Ghanaian rulers against the ways of God.
Apostle Nyamekye also condemned the attitude of some Ghanaian pastors who spend precious time preaching about their designer shoes and jackets bought from Western countries to show their wealth, calling this act shameful. .
He told a crowded church that he was just as ashamed for the chefs to sell a plot of land to ten people.
Apostle Nyamekye made these comments Sunday when he addressed hundreds of members of his church, leaders and politicians to the region's badembly. Asokwa in Kumasi at the church launch of its environmental protection campaign program in Kumasi.
He did not stop there. The revered man of God said that it was shameful that political leaders go to Europe and borrow huge sums of money for the construction of roads and social amenities to the intention of the citizens, for the sole purpose of corrupting him for their personal benefits.
The man of God said that although Ghanaians sometimes accuse politicians of the harm done by society, many directors of public institutions who are also church leaders are also perpetrators of corruption.
He observed that about 70 percent of Ghanaians were Christians, but that corruption was increasing, which he said was indicative of the fact that corrupt society was dominated by Christians.
He therefore called for a complete change of the state of mind to free the system of corruption and selfishness.
The campaign launched in Accra last year carries the slogan "My environment, my responsibility" for the next five years.
Apostle Nyamekye told the congregation that the church, as part of its civic responsibility, was working in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana Limited to keep the environment clean and safe. to ensure a green revolution in Ghana.
He added that the Pentecostal Church would partner with the government to provide facilities to decongest overcrowded prisons in Ghana and build CHPS complexes in selected communities.
The church will also drill in another partnership with World Vision in select communities across the country.
He said that God created the earth and was given to humans and asked to take care of it, adding that this divine mandate should never be neglected.
Akwanubadah Gyimah, chief executive of the Asokwa Municipality, said the government was grateful to the Pentecostal Church for its innovations over the years that have been very helpful to the country, and urged them to continue on this path.
He added that the government would continue to support the church and Zoomlion's collaboration to make the country attractive to tourists.
He cautioned Ghanaians to pay attention to Ponzi schemes in which they follow attractive interest rates to lose their money for such schemes.
He explained that it was wrong to say that Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta was collapsing banks for his data bank to prosper. Mr. Gyimah said it is because of the recklessness of the banking sector that the government claims 400 million GHS as a hedge so that when the unfortunate happens and these banks melt, the government uses that money to support depositors.
Maxwell O. Antwi, Asokwa's city manager at Zoomlion Ghana Limited, said during a presentation to the congregation that Zoomlion had diagnosed and prescribed trash as a unique solution to Ghana's waste problems.
When it is adopted by all, including the government, it will create jobs for young people, strengthen tourism, ensure a cleaner environment, protect Ghanaians against communicable diseases and thus save the national health insurance scheme ( NHIS). use health facilities.
He urged the government, civil society groups and the Ghanaian to subscribe to the national distribution project of one million bins of Zoomlion to own a garbage bin to ensure the cleanliness of the household.
Zoomlion had previously promised the One Household project, One Bin. Zoomlion had badured Ghanaians that one of its subsidiaries, Universal Plastic Product and Recycling Plant (UPPR), had begun producing a basket to be supplied to its customers across the country – an initiative that Ecobank Ghana had joined. Ecobank Ghana has provided $ 10 million in loans to the company for the project.
The Asokwa chief, Nana Fe Asamoah, accompanied by Kaasehene and others, was grateful for the partnership between the church and Zoomlion.
He insisted that the Youth Employment Office should always engage young people who understand current environmental sanitation trends to maintain the environment clean, rather than engaging older people who do not have enough energy to do the job.
He thought that Zoomlion's work was commendable in his jurisdiction, but added that there was always room for improvement.
