The House of Representatives of the Speaker of the Lower House of the US Congress is due to visit Ghana next week.
Nancy Patricia Pelosi, as part of her visit, is scheduled to address Parliament on Wednesday, July 31 at 10 am
"Accordingly, members are urged to [be in the House to] attend the audience of our august guest, "said Friday in parliament, the leader of the majority, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, during the reading of the House of Representatives' work for next week.
The US lawmaker would be part of a delegation made up of black caucus members of Congress as part of the "year of return" celebrations in Ghana.
Other members of the delegation include the majority bad in the House, James Clyburn of South Carolina, the civil rights representative, John Lewis of Georgia, the Chair of the House Finance Committee, Maxine California Waters, MP Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas and a Somali Congressman. Pelosi is a member of the American Democratic Party. She is the first female Speaker of the House.
She became president in 2018 after the mid-term elections in the United States, when the GOP lost a majority in the House.
This makes her the highest elected woman in the history of the United States.
Named to Congress in 1987, Nancy Pelosi is currently in her 17th term as a Congressman.
It represents the 12th congressional district of California, made up of four fifths of the city and county of San Francisco.
