The president of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas, declared that they showed the threat that they could represent for Barcelona by ending the undefeated race of Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.
The PSG champions had won 18 wins and two draws in 20 league games this season, but they disavowed Sunday, despite taking the advantage thanks to the strike of Angel Di Maria in the seventh minute .
The goals of Moussa Dembele and Nabil Fekir tipped the match and Aulas shone his praises about the team and head coach Bruno Genesio.
And with the start of the match for the last Champions League match against Barca on 19 February, Aulas is confident that Lyon will face a new shock against a European heavyweight, after defeating Manchester City in the group stage.
"The team played a very good game," Aulas told reporters. "The first half started badly, but we reacted quickly.
"I really take my hat off to the team and to Bruno, who has again selected the right team." Playing with four forwards, as we did, was ambitious to attack PSG and we made it difficult for them.

"It gives us great satisfaction to stay close to [second-placed] Lille and prepare for the Champions League match against Barcelona, which will be at a similar level.
"PSG seemed a little disconcerted by the will and pressure of our players, we thought we could get closer to Barcelona, it's great, it's a moment of happiness."
Despite the victory, Genesio only wanted to keep pace with Lille, who has three points ahead of Lyon, third and beat Nice 4-0 on Friday.
"It was very important because Lille won," he said. "We had to take three points to stay close to them.
"Inflicting a first defeat at PSG is rather incidental. The goal is to go forward and take second place. We stay close to Lille, which runs at full speed."
