Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron are about to return to the Queens Park Rangers team when they face Middlesbrough in two weeks.
The duo had a long indentation after being injured during their trip to Leeds United in early December.
While both players are progressing well in training, Rangel and Cameron are not yet ready for a first team comeback.
This means that the two players should not only miss this weekend's showdown with Birmingham City, but also the much-anticipated FA Cup fifth round clash with Watford, Premier League champion, next Friday.
McClaren said on the RPQ website: "Geoff and Angel are still in two weeks.
"Tomer is preparing his conditioning and it was good to see him on the ground.
"He's training very well, but it's still too early to start. But once he gets in shape, and with the other options we have, we will have a very good team.
"We have to make our way through this period. The way to go is still long, but we must score points Saturday. "
