The Winneba Education College is scheduled to reopen Monday, April 8, 2019 after being closed for almost a month.

The school's board announced in a press release on Wednesday.

According to the Council, the decision to reopen the school is based on the advice and authorization of the Central Region Security Council.

"… Students residing on campus will only be allowed to enter university residences on both campuses as of Monday, April 8, 2019, and not before," the statement said.

He also noted that the university's management and academic board had been tasked to revise its academic calendar "to make up for the loss of time and ensure that staff and students work collaboratively to ensure that academic work return to normal ".

Students must, however, prepare for the mid-term exams that must begin from Tuesday, April 9 to Friday, April 12, 2019.

The university's Winneba and Ajumako campuses were closed on March 14, after students destroyed several school buildings during a demonstration.

The protest concerned the dismissal of three lecturers; Prof. Ephraim Avea Nsoh, Dr. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong and Dr. Frimpong Duku.

According to the statement, the Board of Governors has reinstated the three members and they must report for work on Thursday, April 4th.
