Robert Pattinson is officially the new Batman.
Warner Bros. has entered into a contract with the actor of "Twilight" to play "The Batman".
Pattinson became a star after the resounding success of the five-film "Twilight" franchise in which he played the vampire Edward Cullen alongside Bella Swan, of Kristen Stewart.
No official start date has been set for the filming of "The Batman".
Ben Affleck played Batman in two titles directed by Zack Snyder: "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice" of 2016 and "Justice League" of 2017.
Both films received mixed reviews and were a disappointment for Warner Bros. in his efforts to compete with Marvel Studios in the field of superheroes.
