The Spanish royal family attends Easter Mass in Mallorca – Royal Central

The Spanish royal family has traditionally celebrated Easter by attending a Mbad on the island of Mallorca (Mallorca). Queen Sofía and her daughter-in-law, Queen Letizia, walked side by side despite their public argument at Easter Mbad last year.

This morning, King Felipe led his family to Santa Maria Cathedral in Palma to attend Easter Mbad. King Felipe, Queen Letizia, their children, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia were joined by Felipe's mother, Queen Sofia, to celebrate the resurrection of the dead. The Spanish royal family traditionally celebrates Easter in Palma de Mallorca, capital of the island of Mallorca.

It was a rainy and windy morning when the Spanish royal family arrived at Palma Cathedral. They were welcomed there by the bishop of Majorca, Sebastià Taltavull and a representative of the government. After Mbad, the Spanish royal family took the time to greet the many Spanish citizens and tourists who, despite the rain, had gathered at the cathedral. Leonor, Princess of Asturias (13) and her sister Infanta Sofía (almost 12 years old) seemed to be comfortable while they were chatting with the public.

Last year, Queen Sofía and her queen-in-law Letizia were in the limelight. Queen Letizia prevented Queen Sofia from taking pictures with her grandchildren. Both had a public quarrel that made headlines. This year, the two queens seemed to have buried the newborn while they were being photographed kissing each other. The queens also posed for photos with the kids.

King Juan Carlos, father of King Felipe, was still absent. Since his abdication, he only attended Easter Mbad once, last year. It is an open secret that the relations between King Juan Carlos and his wife, Queen Sofia, are rather tense.

Queen Letizia looked in a good mood while she was wearing a Mbadimo Dutti shirt dress with a floral print. It was the first time in 15 years that the Queen wore a dress for mbad. The family coordinated his clothes as they all wore navy / blue-white clothes.
