IPhone and iPod speaker docking stations are usually interchangeably designed, giving Speakal's iCrystal loudspeaker a fresh breath of fresh air: the dock itself is a nice shade of red Pantone (black or white is also an option), connected to two extraterrestrial eggs that open up to reveal the audiophonic yellow that emerges: the loudspeakers that vibrate the iCrystal, which promise to emit a 360 degree sound.

The iCrystal works on AA batteries and can be connected to a TV, stereo or MP3 player other than Apple via a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack. The iCrystal reads and charges all iPods and iPhones so far, but it's unclear if nothing prevents it from docking an iPhone 4 in the same way.

ICrystal is available now on the Speakal website for $ 79.99.
