An employee of GCB Bank committed suicide by hanging, which coincided with her dismissal.
The body of Agnès Asampana was found suspended by a nylon rope to her ceiling fan in her room in Ayekokye, a suburb of Suhum, Friday, July 5, 2019, by her brother worried who went there after several calls without answer.
The body of this 40-year-old woman, who worked for the GCB bank branch in Nsawam, was dropped off at the Suhum government hospital morgue.
The command of the East Regional Police has opened an investigation into this.
According to sources, GCB Bank is firing some staff members by using upper secondary certificates rather than their graduate degrees.
Some 140 staff members are likely to be affected, according to sources close to the situation.
