The NPP’s electoral success story in 2016 and the problem it faces can be compared to the analogy that will be told.
There is a saying, “it takes two to tango”, so “both people involved in a difficult situation must accept the blame, or that an activity needs two people who are willing to participate in order for it to happen. produce ”. Another Akan proverb says: “If two people go into the bush to set a trap, it takes two people to go and inspect it.”
The following analogy concerns building a house in Ghana. A person in America has the resource (the money) for the house to be built. The house is not his but simply lends money to the person who intends to build the house who is in fact the owner. He transfers the money to his trusted friend in Manchester, UK, for example, Monday at 5:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m.).
It takes another man from London to hire a taxi on Tuesday at 3:00 am (3:00 am) to come and go in Manchester to collect the money. The money must reach Ghana in cash without fail by 10:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m.) on the same Tuesday. Another friend is traveling to Ghana on British Airways from Heathrow Airport at 2:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m.) the same Tuesday. He is the only one able and able to bring money to Ghana. There is a fourth person in Ghana who successfully receives the money to carry out the construction project to the satisfaction of everyone in Ghana. If the money had not reached Ghana by the appointed date and date, the building could not have been built in any way. It was certainly the deal under the irreversible terms of the deal.
Which of the roles played by the four people is not significant for the successful construction of the building? The first person provides the money. The second person walks a long distance with their own money to collect the huge cash to bring someone at the airport. The third person at the airport takes the money to Ghana on an airliner. The fourth person in Ghana receives the money to be used to build the house to the admiration of all Ghanaians.
Do the four people all deserve applause for a good collective job done, or should some of them be ignored because their role is not important enough? Don’t the roles they played look like a necklace or chain where any broken link would make the whole process futile, thus making each role played as important as the next?
In this analogy, the NPP as a party does not recognize the role played by the second person but without which they could not have received the money to carry out the last minute 2016 campaign that won them the election. .
The third person in the analogy claims to not know the second person. As he is offered a lucrative date and he is having fun, he turned his back on the second person claiming to have never met him. He claims not to know him.
The fourth person takes all the credit and appreciates it too, having been offered a great job. I don’t know about the first person who loaned them the money like in the analogy.
If the NPP continues in this trend, lacking in strategic political prowess and electoral victory, but causing huge missteps where they will turn their backs on the very people who go the extra mile to facilitate their chances of gaining political power, so I’m afraid their chances of being in power will only be reduced to revolve around the NDC on the alternate eight-year cycle, if they’re lucky.
Do not bite the hand that feeds you. Recognition is a critical factor in the success of any business.
Almost all Ghanaians abroad, especially NPP members, supporters and sympathizers are aware of the role Mr. Sakordie, aka DJ Sources of Sources FM online, played in winning the NPP election in 2016. He used his radio to rally support for the then presidential election. candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP, both abroad and in Ghana. He made many Ghanaians aware of the need to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP.
He mobilized Ghanaians abroad to bring money and other materials to help NPP reach many people during the campaign. I remember visiting his studio at Angel in Edmonton, London. He told me about the money he was collecting for NPP where voluntary contributors are asked to pay £ 200.00. On leaving the studio I asked him to come with me to Angel’s main street where there are ATMs to withdraw £ 200.00 for my contribution as I had no money on me. He did and I gave him the money.
Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, know of the fantastic work he has done. However, he was put aside. He is treated as if he had never done anything meaningful for the nuclear power plant. He was the NPP’s spokesperson abroad, using his radio to reach every nook and cranny, preaching the good news of the NPP and mobilizing support for the party.
DJ Sources offered his station for free to broadcast information about nuclear power plants. I had met Mrs Ursula Owusu and Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover in the Sources radio studio when he was in Tottenham High Street before moving to Angel Edmonton via Middlesex Hospital.
DJ Sources needed a license to operate a radio station in Tema, but his application was refused. Had he been licensed from the National Communications Authority (NCA) headed by Joseph Anokye, on merit of course, his services as we know him could continue to help not only NPP, but Ghana as well.
There is also another person from Wenchi who in London has done a lot to advance the cause of the nuclear power plant. He is a lawyer by profession. When the president saw him at a funeral in Wenchi, he was very happy. According to my information, the president ordered him to contact a certain lady, but this lady hearing that the man was over the retirement age of sixty, never bothered to answer her when he submitted his request. The rest is history, I will say.
If the NPP does not recognize the vital role played by certain individuals at crucial times, they risk being relegated to the opposition and they will stay there for a long time.
Every role played by a Ghanaian is important to the NPP’s success in the election, but there are certain roles that are crucial, as were the analogy and that of DJ Sources.
When NPP won the 2016 election, excessive credit was given to Joseph Anokye. Many Ghanaians happily claimed that he had hacked into the computers of the Election Commission to rig the NPP election. I published an article denying this childish claim because it is a crime to hack an organization’s computer in the first place.
The fact that he was a computer analyst at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in America was not a convincing story to me for his alleged hacking into EC computers. I have been in contact with many IT analysts. They specialize in various areas of IT. Therefore, just being an IT analyst does not mean knowing all aspects of IT (information technology).
To conclude, if it hadn’t been for the role of lastminute.com played by some people as is the case in my analogy, the NDC would have rigged the 2016 election. John Mahama knew he was going to win high hand the elections, surely by rigging, so doing Usain Bolt when he mounted campaign platforms. However, man proposes and God disposes. God had anointed Nana Akufo-Addo for the post hence all the roles played by Ghanaians to let God’s plan for Nana Addo come true.
NPP, don’t be ungrateful. NPP is not corrupted. Nuclear power plants are still not lacking in political strategy. Be grateful and far-sighted to help the entire nation without neglecting those who play a vital role in bringing you to power.
If you listen to Kennedy Agyapong (Hon) you will be fine. He is one of the men with the strategies to help you win elections, stay in power longer to develop the nation. If you heed the advice and suggestions from selfless people like Rockson Adofo, everything will be fine with the party and the country.
Alex Daddy should remember yesterday and notice that the time is changing. It is never too late for nuclear power plants to correct their obvious mistakes.
A word to the wise is enough, but stubbornness is the cause of the horns of the hornbill.
