The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the construction of a national cathedral today, January 23, 2019.

Meanwhile, the country's top Christian leaders have supported this decision.

The founder and chief pastor of the chapel of action, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, expressed dismay at the seemingly opposing concerns of Christians regarding the construction of the National Cathedral.

Archbishop Duncan Williams said that some Christians oppose the intervention because it is not their political party that builds it.

Addressing his congregation on Sunday, he said, "Do you know the people who are fighting? No other religions, but it's us, Christians. It's us, the Christians who fight. And some of you are fighting it because neither your party nor your president is building it, so you have to oppose it. Some of you like your political parties and are more loyal to your political parties than to the Bible and the cause of Christ. "
