A woman who escaped from vicious serial killer Ted Bundy recounted the moment when he told her that he would kill her.

Carol DaRonch was only 18 years old when she was abducted by the psychopath in a mall in 1974.

She has now spoken of her horrible ordeal in the documentary Conversations with a Killer: Ted Bundy's Bands of Netflix.

Bundy had already killed at least ten women in several US states when he had lured phone operator Carol into his car posing as a police officer.

He claimed that his own vehicle had been robbed and that she had to accompany her to the police station.

But as he chased her away, events took a horrible turn.

She said: "He suddenly stopped on the sidewalk near a primary school and this is where I start to panic.

"He grabbed my arm and had a handcuff on his wrist.

"I had never been so afraid of all my life."

She added, "I thought, God, that my parents will never know what happened to me.

"The next thing I knew that he had taken out a gun and said," I'm going to blow your head. "

Fortunately, Carol was able to fight Bundy and escape the car.

But he would murder Debra Jean Kent, 17, the same day.

Carol was one of the few survivors of the Bundy murder frenzy, but it would have taken nine months before he was arrested by the police.

She eventually testified against him and was imprisoned in 1976 for kidnapping and badault while the authorities were trying to file a murder case against him.

Bundy escaped prison twice in 1977 and was able to continue his murderous adventure. He was finally captured in Florida in 1978.

He finally confessed to killing 30 women in seven states, but he also suggested that he had killed many more.

The new four-part Netflix series was released Jan. 24 to mark the 30th anniversary of Bundy's performance in 1989.

He is based on 100 hours of recorded confessions while he was detained on death row.

In the chilling audio tapes, Bundy says, "I'm not an animal and I'm not crazy, and I do not have a double personality.

"I mean, I'm just a normal individual."
