The three girls abducted in Takoradi
The Western Region Police Command reported that the three abducted girls in Takoradi had established relations with their alleged abductor Samuel Wilis.
At a press conference held on Wednesday to inform the media of progress made so far in investigating this case, the Western Region Police Commander, DCOP Redeemer, Vincent Dedjoe, said that investigations reveal that the accused and the three victims had communicated several times before their abduction.
"Before his [the accused] An arrest occurred that there was a catalog of appeals between the accused and the victim (s) that were badyzed and that the police established a connection between the accused and the three cases of kidnapping, "said DCOP Dedjoe.
The accused allegedly contacted his victims several times by mobile phone, promising the first and second victims to work, while the accused allegedly promised the third victim with a mobile phone.
At the same time, the suspect would make fun of Ghanaian security agencies in his cells, a police source told Starr News.
According to the source, Willis boasts among his cellmates that he alone holds security forces in Ghana for ransom, even after several kidnappings.
"The guy is enjoying himself in prison, he is hailed as king in his cells. He boasts of having kidnapped many people. He made fun of Ghana in the cells, he says we can not do anything about it, "said the officer at Starrfmonline.com.
The Minister of Gender Equality, Child Protection and Social Welfare has asked the police to unmask the perpetrators of the kidnapping.
Mrs. Cynthia Morrison stated that she was "in a panicky mood" and that it was incumbent upon the security agencies to restore public confidence.
"They [police] should improve their game because kidnappings are not what we hear about in Ghana. It's sad and I sympathize with the family, "she told Morning Starr host Francis Abban on Wednesday.
Security badyst Adam Bonah accused police on Tuesday of reacting badly to the kidnapping situation.
"From the beginning, I think there were gaps here and there. The police probably could have reacted quickly enough to help these girls, but unfortunately it was not able to do it in the first 72 hours and in a kidnapping case like this, the first two or three days if you are. If you can not carry out any proper rescue, know that every day, the situation will escalate, "said Bonah in Starr Today.
He added: "So, I think they had the opportunity to react quickly when the kidnappers or the kidnappers hired the victims' families about the ransom. They had the opportunity to react quickly, but there was a delay somewhere.
His comments come after one of the parents of the girls who were kidnapped lamented that the kidnappers allegedly refused to bring back his daughter even after paying the ransom requested.
