The tenant "destroys a three-bedroom house causing £ 7,000 in rancid damages"

One tenant caused more than £ 7,000 in damages to a property and then left unexpectedly, still owing 11 months' rent, said the owner.

Michael Walker, 56, found his three-bedroom property in a disastrous state when he had access to the place on April 19.

Shocking images show dirty dishes piled up along the kitchen counter, dirty walls of grease and garbage cluttering the hallways.

All the parts were left vandalized and mold was found on the ceiling, reports Birmingham Live.

The tenant also allegedly dragged the washing machine to another room and the floor of the living room was punctured, while the plaster was shredded from the walls.

The tenant left piles of garbage in each room, Walker said.

The landlord also claims that his tenant left the property unexpectedly – he still owes him 11 months of rent.

Walker says the house is now infested with flies and rancid.

He said: "The tenant missed the night and left the property completely run down.

"It has been left unbearable – it's shocking.

"It's an absolute mess for the moment – it looks like he's been cleaning the house and everything has accumulated."

Mr. Walker stated that he had issued to the tenant an order for repossession that had been ignored.

He suffered a stroke three years ago and can no longer work.

The tenant left the property unexpectedly last week

He said, "This house was not a property to buy, it used to be my family's home. I have it for over 30 years.

"The only reason I rented it is because I went there and stayed at home with my father, 87, because he was sick." .

"It was completely destroyed – every room."

Mr. Walker is now seeking the advice of an independent appraiser to badess the extent of the damage.

He estimates that there are more than £ 7,000 worth of repairs to make.



Mr. Walker eventually brought the case to court

He said: "I am now in possession of the property, but I can not do much because it requires a lot of work."

"I have to try to pay for the work to be done, then you have the rent due, and the legal fees are extra."

The case has been brought to court on three occasions and proceedings are still ongoing.
