Unai Emery admits he does not know if the serious knee injury inflicted on Marco Asensio could wipe out Arsenal's hopes of reaching Dani Ceballos.
The Spanish international midfielder has agreed to join the Gunners through a loan agreement with Real Madrid one season.
Ceballos, 22, was due to join the Gunners before Tuesday's pre-season meet with his parent club.
And Emery was thrilled by the arrival of former Real Betis, who shone for Spain at the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

Arsenal had hoped to announce the arrival of Ceballos Thursday, its arrival in London is planned.
However, questions were asked after the match to find out if Asensio's misfortune could lead to Ceballos staying in Santiago Bernabeu – although Ceballos is often used in a deeper role than his compatriot.
Zinedine Zidane said he did not want to engage in North London: "It has not been done yet, the club is there, we will see in the next few days."
Unai Emery, boss of Arsenal, said: "I do not know. Our goal in the match was not to take injuries and they may have a big injury with Asensio, c & # 39; is bad news for them and for us too.
