A television series based on the popular John Wick the film franchise is in development and has now been confirmed.
After three blockbuster movies, it was announced that apart from another movie sequel, there was a John Wick TV series under development entitled The continental.
Focusing on the exclusive hotel that provides a safe place for murderers, Starz's chief operating officer, Jeffrey Hirsch, has now confirmed that the series would be a precedent.
Speaking during the tour of the Association of Television Critics, he said the series would be placed "very much behind in terms of movie timing".
Hirsch said, "I feel that, as we are today, the date of the film has been set, but we are still in the early stages of development of the series. [it will air] probably after.
The fourth John Wick The film should be released in May 2021.
That Keanu Reeves plays the role of the martial arts expert killer of the series, puppy lover, knife thrower and gun, remains to be confirmed. When asked about this, Hirsch replied, "This is a very good question that I will not answer," he teased. "No answer is as good as your girl. This is an excellent franchise, we are excited to present this show on the network. "
Reeves is however involved in the development phase of the series – so what Parabellum Director Chad Stahelski said a few months ago is true.
"Keanu and I are involved," Stahelski said in May.
"We are still in the process of development, but I think that the ideas that have been put forward and the guiding thread that they convey will be very different, while being related to our universe, it will be very fun. "
Meanwhile, the filming started on the new Bill and Ted film, which will see Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter resume their roles as idlers.
A third film is in preparation since at least 2013, but it was only officially lit in May 2018 – before the release date and more details on Bill and Ted face the music was shared in March.
