The United Nations is the latest to deplore and condemn the horrific murder of the undercover investigator, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, in Accra.
Sylvia Lopez-Ekra, Acting Resident Coordinator in Ghana, said in a statement that she "strongly condemned" the murder of the investigator who was working for the private investigator Tiger Eye PI on 16 January.
"The United Nations calls for a prompt, thorough and transparent investigation into the death of Mr. Hussein-Suale and full accountability of those responsible.
"Failure to bring perpetrators of human rights violations to justice creates a climate of impunity that perpetuates the cycle of violence against journalists," the statement added.
