Accra, March 19, GNA –
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been declared the winner of the 2019 competition
first African Universities Games in Cairo, Egypt.
Ghanaian
The university dominated the men's and women's divisions with 10 gold, 7 silver and
eight bronze medals, to win the student sports festival.
Astute University of
Egypt placed second with three gold medals, such as University of Ghana, Legon and
University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale won two gold medals
a piece.
Derek Abrefa, a
UCC student and national table tennis player, attributed their success to
training, all sports students being full stars.
He added that
also obeyed the instructions of their leaders and coaches.
He congratulated the UCC
the team and urged them to train even harder to make Ghana proud again.
