The Marvel cinematic universe will enter a bold new territory after this year.
"Avengers: Endgame" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home" arrive in theaters in April and July, but beyond that, details about the future of the MCU are rare. But we know that Marvel Studios has eight release dates scheduled for untitled films from 2020 to 2022 and we know what some of these films might be.
Release dates include May 1 and November 6, 2020; February 12, May 7 and November 5, 2021; and February 18, May 6, and July 29, 2022. The release date of July 2020 has been reduced from the calendar of last year.

Disney, owner of Marvel, should end Wednesday its merger with Fox. At this point, Disney will own movie rights to Marvel characters, including X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four. We do not know when and how Marvel Studios will use these characters (Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has not yet been allowed to develop projects for them), but Marvel still has other current movies that could fill those dates Release.
Disney rehired James Gunn last week to run "The Guardians of the Galaxy 3" after firing him last year when offensive tweets resurfaced. Marvel Studios hired Short Term 12 director, Destin Daniel Cretton, to direct "Shang-Chi", with Marvel's first Asian superhero at the head of a solo film.

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow is an avenger from the beginning. She debuted in 2010 in "Iron Man 2" and has since starred in all the "Avengers", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War" movies. It is therefore time for her to have her own movie. Australian director Cate Shortland will direct the film solo, which should be a precedent after the character's past as a Russian spy.

Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, is positioned to be one of the pillars of the franchise in a post-endgame MCU. Director Scott Derrickson returns for the sequel to the first 2016 blockbuster film, which earned $ 678 million worldwide.

The director of "The Rider", Chlo Zhao, directs "The Eternals", based on the comic strip of legendary creator Jack Kirby, dedicated to divine celestials. The film will probably push the cosmic stories of the MCU into a new territory, beyond the "Guardians of the Galaxy" or more recently "Captain Marvel".

In a surprising reversal, Disney reinstated director James Gunn last week to direct the third film "The Guardians of the Galaxy" after returning it in July, when offensive tweets of several years resurfaced. After being fired by Disney, Warner Bros. hired Gunn to write and direct a new movie "Suicide Squad". Gunn will complete this for Warner Bros. before Marvel Studios starts production of "Guardians of the Galaxy 3."
"Shang-Chi"

Destiny, Daniel Cretton, director of "Short Term 12", will direct "Shang-Chi", the first film of Marvel Studios with an Asian superhero. In comics, he is known as "Kung Fu Master".
