Former President John Mahama has said there will be attempts to twist history to denigrate the late President Rawlings after his disappearance.

“I dare say that with the death of JJ, the revisionists of our history will start their work again to try to denigrate the history of his life and his work. That’s what I’m saying unless those of us who knew and worked with him document his life and works for posterity, then hunter historians will write it down for us, ”Mr. Mahama speaking at a public conference in honor of the founder of the NDC.

He appealed to the intellectuals who followed the Rawlings era to ensure that the facts of his life were fairly projected in their works.

To NDC supporters, Mahama said: “It is more than ever that we should close our ranks to ensure the survival of our party and our tradition.”

“The challenge that political parties face that makes the difference between success and failure is how to survive the death of your founder.”

Rawlings funeral

On Sunday, a Catholic Requiem Mass was held for the late former chief.

On Tuesday January 26, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and their wives paid their final tribute to the former President.

It was followed by that of the former presidents and their spouses, the chief of staff of the presidency and the heads and former heads of constitutional bodies.

The Speaker of Parliament, former Presidents, the Chief Justice, former Chief Justices, Supreme Court justices, parliamentarians, former ministers of state and members of the diplomatic corps also had their turn the same day.

The main funeral event is said to be held at Black Star Square in Accra on Wednesday January 27.
