The legend of Arsenal, Thierry Henry, spoke about his dismissal as head of Monaco.
Aged 41, he was only responsible for 20 games, but won only four times in a dugout canoe and saw the 2017 French champions take control of the Champions League, Ligue 1 and the national cup.
He leaves them with a difference of -36 goals and a second position in the first division of his country in what must be considered a failure for the former striker of Barcelona and Juventus.
Before leaving for Italy, Henry had spent his youth in Monaco while helping his country win the 1998 World Cup.
In a message posted on his social media, the retired Prime Minister thanked two people, in particular, for giving him the opportunity to run his former club, one of which was closely badociated with Chelsea, the rival of Arsenal.
He wrote: "It is with great sadness that I have separated from AS Monaco.
"Despite the difficulties and difficulties we encountered during my short trip, I still fully enjoyed my stay in this wonderful club.
"I would especially like to thank Vadim Vasilyev [Monaco vice-president] and Michael Emenalo [director of football, ex-Chelsea] who offered me this opportunity in my childhood club and of course to the fans and staff who gave me such a warm welcome during my term.
"I sincerely hope that my successor will strengthen the strengths of AS Monaco and I wish him every success in the future, starting with a win in Dijon and raising the cup to bring us back in Europe!"
Prior to the appointment of Unai Emery to the position of head coach to replace Arsene Wenger after 22 years at Arsenal, Henry had been tipped as a potential successor to his former manager.
He enjoyed a growing reputation in the sport as a coach, working under the guidance of fellow countryman Roberto Martinez, and had previously worked with young people during a return to London Colney.
It seems that the gunners made the right choice by not offering Henry the job in the summer. The Frenchman was still far from being the finished product as a manager.
