Thieves shot dead two teachers in Derma and took away 200,000 GHC

Thieves shot dead a teacher in Derma, a community of tomato growers in the municipality of Tano Sud in the Ahafo region.

The Ghanaian News Agency (GNA) has rounded up the thieves who stormed the town of Derma on the eve of Friday August 20, 2021, attacked and robbed a 200,000 GHC mobile money merchant.

In the process, Fareed Adu Gyamfi, a tutor at Derma Senior High School, was shot at point blank range and later died at the Derma Health Center.

Another teacher was also shot dead and is believed to be in critical condition at the health center.

GNA learned that the two teachers were doing mobile money transactions when the thieves attacked the seller.
