As part of the "See Ghana, Eat in Ghana, Bring to Ghana, Feel in Ghana" campaign, the Global Media Alliance (GMA) presented Drink Ghana at the launch of the third edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA).
Under the theme "Drink Ghana, Inspiring Excellence in the Ghana Beverage Industry", this year's Awards will promote local drinks with Drink Ghana.
Drink Ghana is part of efforts to complement the work of the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism to create the "I am Ghanaian" spirit.
The launch saw the introduction of four additional categories into the awards program to honor more players in the beverage sector.
The new categories include: International Wine of the Year, international beer of the year, international spirit of the year and new year drink.
This addition is intended to recognize the contribution of the foreign beverage market to the refreshment of Ghanaians and to foster strong and healthy multicultural relationships with our foreign counterparts.
The price of the new drink of the year is awarded to the last brand of the year under review, which arouses great interest from the public while respecting high quality standards.
Speaking at the launch of the 2018 Awards in Accra, GMA President and CEO Ernest Boateng said, "This year's Awards are dedicated to promoting the efforts of small and medium-sized beverage companies. consider a future in which local beverages will gain the visibility or exposure needed to attract the local and foreign markets. "
The Ghana Beverage Awards is a platform that badumes the responsibility to promote local producers.
Tourism Minister Catherine Abelema Afeku, a special guest of honor, has commissioned beverage companies to propose innovative ways to develop more traditional Ghanaian beverages such as Asana, Sobolo and the Palm Wine. .

She added that the initiative to promote Drink Ghana could not have come at a better time.
The Ghana Beverage Awards is organized by Global Media Alliance. Supporting partners are the Food Research Institute (FRI) of CSIR, the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Food and Beverage Association of Ghana.
Last year, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited won the Ultimate Guinness Foreign Extra Stout Award for the year 's product and beer of the year. Other brands have been rewarded at night for their different specialties.
