More than 500 business leaders and representatives of German and Sub-Saharan African governments have arrived in Ghana for the third German-African Business Summit (GABS).
The three-day summit will focus on new opportunities and draw lessons from existing experiences in German-African trade relations.
Gerd Muller, German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, and Thomas Bareib, Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy, arrived in Accra for the Summit.
At the press conference held in the premises of the Octagon in Accra, the German Ambbadador to Ghana, MC Retzlaff, stated that the GABS was the business rendezvous lighthouse of Germany in Africa. Africa to discuss and promote economic relations.
The Ambbadador stressed that the Summit was a huge opportunity for German companies to invest in Africa.

He revealed that German investments were aimed at creating jobs in African countries and transferring technologies to the continent.
Currently, he added, Germany exports $ 14 billion worth of goods to Africa and imports $ 12 billion a year.
The Ambbadador was pleased to note that Ghana was a major development partner of Germany.
Head of the German Industry and Trade Delegation in Ghana, Mr Michael Blank, stressed the importance of funding for all businesses.
He observed that GABS does not focus solely on traditional business relationships and models, but that it also brings together actors from the new African economy, called start-ups.
German office
As part of the Summit programs, a German office will be set up to enable businesses to access financial support and solutions.
The office was created by the German Industry and Commerce Delegation (AHK) in Ghana, the DEG, the private sector investment arm of the German Development Bank KFW and its development partner, Access Bank Ghana .
Mr Mark Show, head of the Ghana office and head of KFW for West Africa, said the German office allowed companies to have access to financial support and to services.
