Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey said African players were discriminated against their European counterparts.
Partey, who is part of the Spanish giant Atletico Madrid since 2013, believes that African players do not deserve the same consideration as their European friends.
"If we are compared to European players, it looks like they are more considered than African players," said the Ghanaian international, aged 25, in an interview with EFE, a Spanish player. "
"We had very good players, like Yaya Toure, Michael Essien, we consider them as good players, but not at the level to win a Ballon d'Or because they come from Africa, but they are the best African players .
"We think of them as the best players, but not at the level of Modric, Messi or Ronaldo, but there were a lot of very good African players.
"Eto'o and Drogba scored a lot of goals and could have won the Golden Ball, but they did not succeed," said Partey.
