PSG manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Neymar wanted to leave the club.
The Brazilian was late to return to preparatory training as he was returning home for a sponsorship event.
He joined his teammates this week and reportedly told Tuchel of his desire to return to Barcelona.
PSG were in action against Dresden Tuesday night as he put six of their opponents without their talisman Neymar.
And after the clashes, Tuchel confirmed that Neymar wanted to leave Paris, two years after his arrival at the world record.
When asked if he knew Neymar wanted to leave, Tuchel replied, "Yes, we knew that.
"I do not know what will happen now between the club and Neymar, I'm calm and do not interfere, it's not my subject.
"I'm the coach and he's my player, I was disappointed with his absence last week, it's clear.
"If he's in the locker room, he's my player and I'll work with him.
"But I'm ready for anything and we need to be flexible."
Neymar is eager to return to Barcelona and would be willing to accept a pay cut to secure the move.
The reports suggest that Barca had offered Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele to the French champions in order to sign Neymar.
His hopes of returning to Camp Nou were shattered last week when Barca finalized Antoine Griezmann's signing for £ 107m.
