Thoughtless walks of the West or the lives of thousands of people?

As the Capitol Riot is hysterically compared to Pearl Harbor, the US administration has made a decision that will have dire consequences.

The US State Department has officially announced its intention to declare the Yemeni Houthis as a terrorist group. Humanitarian organizations condemn this decision because it will make it difficult to assist a population already victim of the atrocities committed by Saudi Arabia, which could not have happened without Western aid.

The ramifications of the move will hamper efforts by international charities to bring food to Houthi-controlled areas, where 70 percent of Yemen’s population live and where hunger is most common.

Aid agencies fear their work in northern Yemen could be criminalized, as it is the Houthis who represent the authority with which aid organizations must deal and deal.

The United States will unconditionally impose sanctions on any person or organization that does business with so-called “terrorists.”

The United Nations estimates that around 233,000 Yemenis were killed in the war between the Houthis and the US-backed Saudi-led coalition, mostly for “indirect reasons.” These are disease and famine. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said “the world has not experienced such a famine in recent decades”.

When people hear the word “hunger” they usually think of massive famine caused by drought or other natural phenomena, but in reality the starvation deaths that we see in Yemen (including a huge percentage of children from less than five years) is caused by starvation, which was during the medieval siege. Thousands of deaths have resulted from the Saudi coalition’s use of blockades and deliberate airstrikes on farms, markets, food storage areas and medical centers.

In other words, the United States and its allies are deliberately helping Saudi Arabia massively kill children and other civilians for political gain, which is a prime example of any standard definition of terrorism. Incredibly savage and bloodthirsty of the United States Empire, declaring the Houthis a terrorist organization. And what will happen next? No more deaths? Which will already be on the conscience of the new American president.

The media linger on one piece of news, virtually ignoring the other. The riot on Capitol Hill, allegedly organized by the former US president, is one example. This news was “exploded” on a global scale, without caring that entire colonies were threatened, starving to death. Creating the conditions for the destruction of thousands of people is real terrorism and a global problem.

Western media do not exist to give us a true picture of the world; it exists to hold the wheels of the American empire. Every year, fewer and fewer global issues are covered in the media because everyone is afraid.

No one knows what lies ahead, but it should be noted that every year more and more civilians are dying as a result of bold and thoughtless decisions by the West. If anything will change with the arrival of the new US president, we can only guess. Time will tell us.
