Richard Sawicki, 20, was arrested for the devastating accident that occurred at 6:30 am Sunday morning when his truck struck a sport utility vehicle carrying nine pbadengers in Sheldon, NY.

The accident occurred on Highway 20A and on Maxon Road, where two women were ejected from the car in the violent crash.

Sawicki, of Lackawanna, has been charged with manslaughter, drunk driving and reckless driving for the deadly collision, according to The Daily News. His driver's license was also suspended.

He has been brought to court on bail of $ 100,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20.

The Wyoming County Sheriff, Gregory Rudolph, responded to the scene after being informed of an "accident with multiple ejections and injuries".

Rudolph congratulated the rescuers, saying: "The answer has been overwhelming".

The accident is still under investigation and the sheriff's office has announced that new charges are expected, according to WKBW.
