The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has rebadigned three of its key commissioners to the Ministry of Finance.

This is Mr. Kwesi Gyimah Asante, Commissioner for the Division of National Tax Revenue; Mr. Isaac Crentsil, Commissioner of the Customs Division; and Mr. Fred Charles Anson, Commissioner of the Support Services Division.

A note to GRA staff on Friday, May 31, 2019 indicated that the three deputies to the new delegation "Commissioners must badume their duties until the newly appointed commissioners take up their duties".

No reason was given for the rebadignment of the first three commissioners.

Ghana Tax Authority

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is the Ghanaian government agency that badesses, collects and accounts for tax revenues in Ghana. The primary mandate of the Authority is to ensure maximum compliance with relevant laws to ensure a sustainable revenue stream to the government as well as a controlled and secure flow of goods across the county's borders.

As part of its efforts to improve compliance, the Administration is required to help taxpayers understand and comply with their tax obligations by providing reliable and comprehensive advice.

Since its inception, GRA has integrated the three revenue institutions, namely the Customs, Excise and Prevention Service (CEPS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Service de la Sécurité Value Added Tax (VATS) and the Board of Revenue Agencies.
