Three players that Brendan Rodgers could target when he is named boss of Leicester City

The Celtic manager is again linked to the job of the Leicester City manager.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers would top the list of potential substitutes for Claude Puel (The Sun).

But which players (if any) could become targets for January, should Rodgers arrive at King Power Stadium?

HITC Sport looks at …

Callum McGregor (Celtic)

One of the few players to have transformed Rodgers' Celtic career. The 25-year-old is now arguably the best central midfielder in Scotland and could easily play at a higher level. Leicester has already allowed Vicente Iborra to leave this month, while Andy King and Adrien Silva have been pressed to follow McGregor's stance.

James Forrest (Celtic)

Another of Rodgers' Celtic successes, Forrest performed so well that it looks like Liverpool (as well as The Sun) is interesting. The winger may not be up to Leicester, although the reminder of Harvey Barnes and the recent links to Jarrod Bowen (The Sun again) suggest that the Foxes are not quite happy no more.

Josh Maja (Sunderland)

A supposed target for Rodgers at Celtic (yes, you guessed it, The Sun), the Northern Irishman might try to take him south of Sunderland when he was to become the boss from Leicester. The striking options of the Foxes could be refreshed (Jamie Vardy remains their favorite companion even though he's just turning 32) and Maja, who has scored 15 goals in 29 games this season, seems to be destined for the top . . The 20-year-old is out of contract in June, but it would cost much more to Leicester (an English compatriot) than Celtic.
