Former Juventus defender Lilian Thuram has criticized Leonardo Bonucci for "shameful," saying Moise Kean was on the hunt for racial violence.
Bonucci has since backtracked on the controversial comments he had made after Juve's 2-0 win at Cagliari on Tuesday, but Thuram did not hesitate to criticize the 31-year-old, adding that Bianconeri should have left the field in protest.
"He says that Moses looked for him and that he said something that many people think: Black deserve what has happened to them," said the Frenchman in Paris.
"Things have not progressed because of these people. I want to say to Moise that I am proud of adversity, like all blacks, in front of Bonucci.
"The right question to ask Bonucci would be rather: what did Kean do to deserve so much contempt?
"Bonucci never told the fans that they were wrong, but rather Kean, who looked for it. It's like when a woman is raped and someone talks about how she was dressed.
"Bonucci is not stupid, but he has some idea of society and his intentions are simply shameful.
"We have to be clear about racism. Those who boo represent contempt for anyone, including children, who has Kean's skin color.
"Whenever someone says that a game will be suspended the next time that happens, it is never the case.
"I see that the football authorities are not interested in it. If this had really been a problem, racism would have stopped.
"The team should have left the field and a solution would have been found."
