The Speaker of the Ghanaian Parliament urged the deputies to take the sitting session seriously.
Professor Mike Ocquaye, troubled by the fact that only about fifteen MPs were present at the beginning of the session, added that the deputies had to give priority to the plenary session.
"In a way, we have an appointment with the good people of Ghana, especially young people, who come to listen to their parliament," he said while looking at an almost empty parliament and a crowded gallery.
"I'm going to pray that we take this obligation seriously. If we take our country seriously, we will take this obligation seriously, "Professor Mike Ocquaye said Thursday.
At the opening of today's meeting, the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, was absent to answer questions. The chief bad of the majority, Ameyaw Kyeremeh, said at home that he could not ask the minister to explain why he could not run.
Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu urged ministers to take the meeting seriously.
