Tiemoue Bakayoko reveals a factor that will determine his future in Chelsea

Tiemoue Bakayoko said his dream was to stay within AC Milan.

The midfielder signed a contract with the Blues in 2017 for £ 40 million. He was loaned after one season only, unable to adapt to the Premier League.

The Frenchman recovered from such a fragile start for his move to AC Milan in order to become a regular start for Gennaro Gattuso.

He now admits that he hopes the San Siro club will activate its 40 million euros purchase option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

But winning first place in Serie A for Champions League football will be the key to the deal.

Chelsea loanee Bakayoko wants to stay at AC Milan

"I heard what Leonardo (Milan's sports director) said," said Bakayoko at Corriere dello Sport.

"But I'm not able to talk about it.

"It's a Milan and Chelsea affair.

Bakayoko hopes Milan will be in the top four

"Staying in Milan is my dream, the only thought in my mind, but I have a contract with Chelsea.

"I just want to finish the season in fourth place, so we'll think about it."

Milan are currently fourth in the Serie A standings, just one point behind Roma, before a huge clash between the two clubs tonight (Sunday at 19.30).
