Tilda Swinton, George Mackay and Stephen Graham are set to star in Oscar-nominated director Joshua Oppenheimer’s Golden Age musical about The Last Human Family for NEON.
The Parasite The Oscar-winning studio for Best Picture took the North American rights to the film. Production will start next year.
Final Cut for Real’s Signe Byrge Sørensen and Oppenheimer produce with Wild Atlantic Pictures and Match Factory Productions Co-Producing. The Danish Film Institute in Denmark and Film- und Medienstiftung NRW in Germany will provide financial support. Jeff Deutchman negotiated the deal for NEON with producers and UTA Independent Film Group. The Match Factory manages overseas sales.
Swinton won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Warner Bros. ‘ Michael clayton. Recent and upcoming projects include: Joanna Hogg’s Remembrance: Part II, by Wes Anderson The French dispatch, George Miller Three thousand years of desire with Idris Elba, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Memory, the latter that NEON releases.
Graham made a splash playing Al Capone in HBO’s award-winning series Boardwalk Empire. He starred in last weekend’s No.1 box office hit that rallied the national pandemic box office, Venom: let there be carnage. Other feature film credits include Martin Scorsese Irish, and Elton John’s biopic Rocket man.
Mackay starred in the Oscar winner 1917 and will soon be seen in the Robert Harris adaptation Munich: On the brink of war and the genre drama of Nathalie Biancheri Wolf with Lily-Rose Depp.
Swinton is replaced by UTA and Hamilton Hodell; Graham is replaced by ICM Partners and Independent Talent Group; MacKay is replaced by UTA and Gordon and Fench; Oppenheimer is replaced by UTA.
NEON wins the Palme d’Or by Julia Ducournau Titanium last weekend, grossing over $ 515,000 in its limited version.
